Hold Steady! It Won't Be Long Now!

"For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder. And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from this time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will perform this." (Isaiah 9:6-7)

On a Sunday morning in November 2020, I had a vision of the Lion of Judah. He was pacing back and forth on a platform. He was very regal and moved with authority, and there was a fire burning in his eyes. He paced up and down several times, and then stopped in the middle of the platform and faced me. He then bowed his head, and I saw a single tear fall from his eye. There were three emotions that I felt as His tear fell. One was passion, another compassion, and the last was mercy. There was such emotion in that tear! Then he raised his head, looked at me again with that fire in his eyes, and said "Hold steady! Hold steady! It won't be long now!" Then the vision ended. And the Lord dropped Isaiah 9:6-7 in my spirit.

After pondering this vision for awhile I believe the Lord is highlighting several things to us as the body of Christ. One is, of course, the promise of the Father in Isaiah. God's government and peace is ever increasing, no matter how it may feel. 2020 has not been an easy year, but still, the government of God is increasing! There will be no end to His government; He is establishing it with judgment and justice. Of that we can be sure, because scripture says, 'The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will perform this!'

I also sensed His heart of passion when the tear fell. It was His passion for the lukewarm, as well as those who have turned their back on God, and those souls that are lost. In 2 Peter 3:9 the word says "...the Lord is longsuffering towards us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." That heartfelt tear was also His compassion for His church, His bride; those who are struggling to keep the faith and stand in the midst of the troubles. "But You , O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth." (Psalm 86:15) "For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 6:15-16) And lastly, I felt His mercy in that tear. The mercy of a loving God, that, just like an earthly father, will want to bring correction to his children in the least harshest way possible. Correction coupled with great grace. Wonderful grace.

And lastly, the words that He spoke, "Hold steady! Hold steady! It won't be long now! I sensed this is a clarion call to the body to persevere. The word 'steady ' means to be firmly placed or fixed; stable in position. Firm, unfaltering and steadfast.

Now is not the time to give up or give in. We should hold steady in our faith, because we are on God's timetable, and IT WON'T BE LONG NOW! The Lord put a phrase in my spirit back in the early summer and it was "From divine reset to strategic delay." We are in the strategic delay right now...and it will bring greater glory to God than we ever dreamed possible! "Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed..." (Revelation 5:5)
