Song of Solomon 6:1
(1) Where has your Beloved gone, O fairest among women? Where has your Beloved turned aside, that we may seek Him with you?
Do you want to make an impact on others for Jesus? Do you have loved ones who have not received Him as Savior and your heart breaks for them? Today's verse proves there is power in sharing the beauty of Jesus and who He is! In Song of Solomon 5:10-16, the Bride has revealed to the less mature daughters who her Beloved is; what He looks like and His attributes.
If you want to make a difference in the lives of others, and cause them to search after Him, criticism and condemnation is NOT the answer. Telling them all their faults is not the way! Pushing and prodding them to go to church won't change their heart one bit. Telling them to be more like you, the sanctified one, will only push them away (this actually stems from a prideful heart!)
The only way change will happen is if a person meets Jesus face to face; if they have an experience with Him! The best way to lead a person to Jesus is to pray for them and create a hunger in their hearts, by representing who He is and pointing out His magnificent beauty. If they see Him for who He really is, it will create a longing to know Him personally. Listen, how can you not want to know Him who is altogether beautiful, compassionate, tender, loving, and kind? Why would you not want to experience His unconditional love?
Experience is so much greater than intellect. You can know everything about Jesus, but unless you have experienced Him, there is another whole realm of reality that you are missing out on. And it's a reality that He longs for you to know.
And just another note...because she has experienced Him and knows His attributes, she is able to live her life in complete obedience and sacrifice. There is no price too great to pay for His companionship. "Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Jesus Christ my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ..." Philippians 3:8 Again, there is power in knowing Him. Selah...
