Song of Solomon 4:11

11) Your lips, O my spouse, drip as the honeycomb; honey and milk are under your tongue; and the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon.

The bridegroom King Jesus is referring to the speech of His bride. Her words to Him and to others, are as sweet as honey. He again uses the term 'My Spouse' in speaking to her, letting her know where she stands in His heart.

The drip of a honeycomb is much different than a gushing forth of words or excessive speech. The bride's words and speech are wise, balanced and not excessive.

Have you ever listened to someone who, although their words were true and right, they seemed to be like a fountain that never shuts off? I believe many times there can be more harm than good in excessive, over abundance of speech. But not so with a mature bride.

Honey & milk are two ingredients that feed babies. The bride's speech nurtures others who are growing, and her speech and her heart (under her tongue) are in perfect alignment. Her private thoughts line up with her spoken word and her heart.

We have all known people who speak one way, but think & plan another. This is a sign of a deceitful heart, and not a mature bride.

Not only is her speech lovely to Him, but her garments, or deeds of service, are beautiful to Him as well. Her deeds & her giving nature carry a beautiful fragrance, which is a stark contrast to those who spend their time and money on themselves.
