Song of Solomon 2:10-13

(10) My Beloved spoke, and said to me; "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. (11) For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. (12) The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. (13) The fig tree puts forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grapes give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away!"

This week's post is a continuation of the Lord calling His bride forth to partner with Him. Last week we saw Him looking at her through the lattice, behind the wall. This week He speaks to her directly. Even though she feels like she is still in transition, He declares the time of transition is over. It is time to rise and partner with Him. Even though her emotions may try to dictate that she is still in a 'dead' season, He knows best. He speaks the reality of the season to her; the winter season is over. The winter rains, or the issues of her life that have kept her secluded and bound, are over.

Can you relate? Have you been in a 'dead' season where you have felt useless for the kingdom of God? Ever wondering if He would use you for anything good? If so, listen for His voice in these verses. Many times it takes a prophetic act on our part to go over the threshold into a new season! Rise up!

Verse 12 speaks of the great harvest that is right around the corner. Can you see the signs of it? Just like the springtime season is announced with flowers appearing, birds singing, and the sound of the dove, for those with ears to hear; so the great end-time harvest of souls is now being announced. The Lord calls this our season; our land. It is not just His time to reap souls, it is our time, also. This is our land to harvest. He is declaring it is time for the divine partnership between the bride and the Bridegroom to manifest. Are you ready? There is an urgency to His call for His love to rise up now. Are you His? Then this call is for you.

The fig is a winter fruit that stays on the tree until spring. Green figs are seen just before the mature figs. This is symbolic of the bride who is maturing even in the winter season but fully manifests in the spring. As His bride, we all go through the discipline of the cross (death to self and hard conditions of severe trials), but afterward produce fruit that is mature and that others can 'eat' from. When we pass through death to self and begin to produce fruit, there is also a fragrance that is released in our lives that is pleasing to others. The Lord is saying it is time for His love to rise and reveal the fruit He has produced in you.

Lastly, the Lord admonishes us once again, one last time, to rise up. Rise up in the resurrection life that He paid for and step forth to manifest His life to the world. We were made to express the power of His resurrection. Rise up and run with Him into the harvest field. It is there your fruit will be seen and tasted by all, and you also, will be satisfied by His goodness.

"You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you." (John 15:16)
